Myth of Bradwood Landing as LNG “export” terminal debunked.

Today we were surprised to see the local newspaper, The Daily Astorian, publish our rebuttal to their recent editorial suggesting Bradwood secretly planned to export LNG. The only state which produces LNG for export is Alaska because of its extensive natural gas reserves, and it has done so for nearly 40 years. In contrast, Oregon imports 100% of the gas it consumes.

Clatsop County affirms support for Bradwood terminal on remand decision

At a meeting last night, the Clatsop County Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 to direct
staff to bring before it revised land use findings for the Bradwood Landing liquefied natural gas import terminal for adoption. The revised findings correct two definitional issues remanded to the County by the state Land Use Board of Appeals on January 27.

Coast Guard issues final decision for Bradwood Landing terminal to FERC

The U.S. Coast Guard today issued a Letter of Recommendation and Record of Decision for the Bradwood Landing LNG Terminal to the Federal Energy Regulatory commission (FERC). The documents convey the Coast Guard's determination on the suitability of the Columbia River for LNG marine traffic as it relates to safety and security.

Oregon Court of Appeals reaffirms its dismissal of challenge to Bradwood Landing LNG terminal

The Oregon Court of Appeals re-affirmed its motion to dismiss an appeal brought by opponents of the Bradwood Landing project. Project opponents had asked for reconsideration after the court had dismissed – on its own motion – an appeal by opponents to a recent Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) decision.
