Beyer to Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski expressed concern about the future price of natural gas
due to a combination of increased demand, lack of supply, increased production costs for Canadian

offsets impacts and provides a net environmental benefit for the

PORTLAND – In a letter filed late yesterday
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Bradwood
Landing, LLC affirmed the accuracy of its application filing
and called on the agency to reject Oregon’s request for a
supplemental draft environmental impact statement (dEIS)

future. The State had alleged that the project description
for the terminal had significantly changed. Also, as part
of its submission to FERC, NorthernStar included a rebuttal
to the Oregon Department of Energy’s May 7 report on natural
gas and LNG. Bradwood’s detailed
response summarized the benefits of LNG and provided updated information on natural

USA Today LNG Article
|
|
By David J. Lynch, USA TODAY |
|
| "Until Katrina arrived, St. Bernard
Parish was best known as the site of the 1815 Battle of
New Orleans where Andrew Jackson's soldiers dealt the British
a shattering blow
at the end of the War of 1812. Now, its mud-caked lawns
and splintered homes attest to Katrina's malevolence.
Today, almost 52% of Gulf gas production remains turned
off, and undersea pipelines, including critical choke
points where gas is gathered from several wells, await repairs.
That means consumers,
still adjusting to gasoline prices near $3 a gallon, soon
will have another headache: soaring home-heating bills." |
