Enhanced Mitigation

Going beyond environmental standards

Bradwood Landing will compensate for unavoidable impacts by mitigating above regulatory requirements. Specific mitigation measures will compensate well in excess (10:1 ratio) of unavoidable impacts to shallow water habitat, wetlands, and other sensitive areas. This means that Bradwood will acquire, protect and enhance more than ten acres for every acre impacted by the facility in Oregon.

For example, the filling of 13 acres of wetland (the old log pond area) will be mitigated and dozens of acres of high-value marsh and intertidal habitat for juvenile salmon and other fish on Svensen Island will be restored.

Our pledge to area wildlife

(NOTE: to be reinforced with Biological Assessment data)

Bradwood Landing is committed to:

  • Restoring wildlife habitat through the implementation of Oregon’s mitigation policy
  • Purchasing and enhancing habitat for Columbia whitetail deer
  • Restoring estuarine fish habitat to compensate for lost habitat at a positive ratio that far exceeds required standards

Case in point: During operation, screened water will be provided to ships at dock for cooling and filling ballast tanks, thus avoiding entrainment impacts to juvenile fish.
